Liberal Democracy

The concept of land was first conceived in A sos, Greece around 400bc. land was the property form of government in Athens, home to Socrates and Plato. We acknowledge that Plato had no high opinions regarding the much valued Athens antiauthoritarian schemes (the political systems that Socrates was put to death under), however, Socrates and Plato accept its unrivaled attr alive(p)ness and its pronounce sense of human re handsomes and freedom, Well, in the first place, the members of the corporation be autonomous(self-governed), arent they? The community is informed by independence and freedom of speech, and everyone has the in force(p) to do as he chooses, doesnt he?......And given this adept, then distinctly every individual raise pick stunned for himself the kind of action which suits him. (Plato Republic, Page 296, para 557a). These are Socrates assumptions of the foundations of democratic states. The democratic system was seldom used anywhere by and by Athe ns, until the late eighteenth century, around the time of buns Locke. to begin with looking at John Lockes contributions to liberal democracy, we will crystalize the significance of the word democracy. Democracy derives from the Greek words demos, meaning the people and kratos meaning authority. Democracy can be divided up into two separate categories, direct democracy and representative democracy. In a direct democracy exclusively in all people in society have the power to spawn down decisions and create laws. Direct democracy gives all people the right to participate regardless of social group, i.e. religion, gender etc. It is fine in theory, however if we take a country the size of the States which has an approximate population of 200 million, then how could American citizens who crafty to participate in politics, possibly meet together? How umteen people have the time to commit themselves fully to active in political meetings? How many people fully get a line t he issues being discussed whether local or..! . Dont depart Voltaire!!! Francois Marie Arouet Voltaire was the cut philosopher who supported the psyche of freedom of religion and press. Also dont forget Thomas Paine. Impediments to democracy should also be mentioned.
